Mandala - The word "mandala" is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit. Loosely translated to mean "circle," a mandala is far more than a simple shape. It represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself--a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.

Objectives:
  • Import 3 .jpg images for word art template
  • Review and apply skills taught in previous lessons (shape, line, texture, typography) to create three images that are related to your word literally or conceptually.
  • Use typography and negative space to illustrate a word graphic using 3 original graphics; apply advanced layer styles to each graphic. 
New Project:   

  • Import 3 .jpg images  and create 1 text file for mandala  template.
  • Using redial design, balance and unity create a mandala with personal meaning on an 8"x8" - 300 res. file
  • Review and apply skills taught in previous lessons (shape, line, texture, typography) to create three images that are related to your word literally or conceptually.
 ClosureBrainstorm your three symbols for your mandala.  Write down some ideas.
