Focus: Create a new note in Evernote called MP-4 Focus/Closure.
Plaster gauze: Plaster gauze is
a type of gauze wrapping that is typically used in creating masks, body
casts, and similar items that require the flexibility of gauze and the
hardness of plaster. It consists of a length of gauze that is coiled
into a roll and when dry has the texture and flexibility of gauze. The
gauze is made with dried plaster powder infused into the gauze itself,
so this type of gauze is usually white and may have a slightly powdery
feel to it. When plaster gauze is dipped in water, however, the plaster
is activated and the gauze can then be set onto anything and will
quickly harden.
Objectives:
1. Complete all assignments from MP 3 and upload to Flickr. Ask for help if you are having trouble uploading.
2. Complete 7 letter designs and print out & cut up pieces.
3. Refine and reinforce your hands.
Closure: Gloss Medium - also known as "Gloss Medium Varnish." Use it as
a non-removable final picture varnish where a glossy protective coat is
desired, or as a painting and glazing medium. It enhances the depth of
color intensity, increases transparency and gloss, eases the flow of
paint, and adds flexibility and adhesion to the paint film. Translucent
when wet, and transparent when dry, this 100% acrylic polymer varnish is
water-soluble when wet and can be thinned. Use it as an extender, a
fixative, a ground, or a varnish.
